How Technology is Used

The most interesting point that I found in Darin Barney's, "Network Technology" was the topic of the use of technology. Barney touches on how people use a certain technology will give us an idea of the type of impact that specific technology is going to have on the world or already has had on the world. Barney also touches on how uses are intended to show the outcome of a certain technology, while other cases of uses have shown us that they can intervene and almost backlash against the people who created that certain piece of technology. As seen in the news recently Twitter is one of those technological advances that has caused backlashes in other countries and in some areas even caused riots.

Along with the sudden outbreak of Twitter, Facebook, and other major social media on the internet, these technological advances have proven what Barney was getting across in his piece of "Network Technology". This being that how a certain form of technology is used can either be a positive thing or a negative thing, but either way it is still having some sort of impact due to it's uses. Not only this, but also the fact that people do not always intentionally use technology in order for something to happen or cause something to happen. For example these riots in Iran were not intentionally done, however due to the constant trending topics of the alleged re-election of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, this caused news to not only spread in seconds on Twitter, but also all over cable news. This just shows how even though the intentions of these uses were not meant for all of this to happen, however because people were using this technological advance of Twitter it caused for something major to happen.
